About Take Take Take

Co-founded by 5x World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen, Take Take Take is building a new home for modern chess. An AI-powered platform for players of every level who want to improve, get personalized coaching, play chess, and share their learning journey with friends.

We've already built a significant presence in the chess world, reaching 5 million people every month with our content. We just launched our new product, and we're incredibly excited about the future. Take Take Take is backed by SNÖ, Coatue, Lovable, Patrick Collison and others. We're a small team in Oslo, and our ambition is to build a new home for the world's 600 million chess players, reaching 200 million users over the coming years.

The Role

We already have a strong, distinctive visual brand. What we need now is someone who can turn that into a product experience that feels as good as it looks. You'll own the product across the full user journey, work closely with our engineering team, and help shape how the app feels, not just how it looks.

You'll be part of a small, cross-functional team, designing hands-on and moving at a fast pace. You'll report to our Head of Product and share ownership of key metrics.

What You'll Focus On & Achieve

• Own the end-to-end product experience, from onboarding to daily play, coaching, and community.

• Help translate our brand into a product that feels premium and personal to use.

• Keep us focused on the metrics that matter most, in close collaboration with engineers, growth, and product.

• Shape how the product looks, feels, and performs, applying design thinking across the full spectrum. From UX and feedback loops to UI, gamification, and visual design.

• Make the most of AI in your own work, and help keep the team at the forefront of AI across the whole product development process.

What Does Success Look Like

Our ambition is to build a global chess platform reaching 200 million users. As Senior Product Designer, you will play a defining role in turning that ambition into reality.

To succeed with us, we need you to have:

• Solid experience as a product or UX/UI designer on consumer-facing digital products.

• The ability to thrive in a small, fast-moving team where you help shape direction, not just execute on it.

• Fluent English communication skills.

• Extensive experience using Figma.

• A genuine passion for our product, paired with a drive to take us to the next stage(s).

Who You Are

You hold your ideas loosely, happy to let a good idea go when the data says otherwise, because being right matters less than building the right thing. At the same time you take real ownership of your work and aren't afraid to challenge your team or leadership when you see a better way.

You'll own the product end-to-end, across the entire user journey, and work hands-on alongside our developers and engineering team. This is a build-fast environment, and you'll need to move at that pace. Day-to-day, you'll work cross-functionally in a small team, and you'll be sitting close to the code, not just the roadmap.

It's a bonus if you've worked specifically on mobile/app products before, and if you already have a feel for designing around retention, engagement, or habit-forming behavior. Maybe you've been part of a small company where you had to take the lead, make calls, and work broadly across the board. That kind of hands-on ownership translates well here. A real enthusiasm for AI as more than just a work tool is a plus, and so is a genuine interest in gaming. An interest in chess specifically isn't required, we're happy to get you hooked.

As one of our early design hires, you'll have real influence, not just over the product itself, but over how design works at Take Take Take going forward.
